Root River Baskets established in 2010 got its name from the stone attached to each basket.

The stones are found on the rock bars of the Root River and each have a natural hole.

I’ve been sewing and working with fabric my whole life. The thought of basket making never crossed my mind until one day, while visiting the local sewing machine store, there was a small flat coiled piece made with strips of fabric and cording and stitched together by machine. After seeing that piece in the store, I picked up some cording and went home to my fabric stash. The first basket was small and simple. After that each one I made got a little bigger, and with practice I learned how to create different shapes and styles. Most shapes are on purpose and some are by accident!

I have always been a practical person so by incorporating that with beauty, customers feel good about their purchase for themselves or to give as a gift.

BASKETS can be used as a tote for many things like farmers markets, picnics to tote your plates glasses, silverware, etc., use for baby toys, remote controls, guest towels, magazines, yarn projects, hobby supplies, letter holder, keys, jewelry, nail polish and makeup, or as an accent piece for your home décor.  Baskets make beautiful gifts for birthdays, showers, weddings!
