Michael Sieve has been a wildlife artist for almost 50 years. A resident of Houston County, he is best known for his paintings of local white-tailed deer and other wildlife. But he has travelled extensively to study and paint birds and animals from around the world. A favorite destination is Africa, but he has also traversed from India, Central America to the Arctic. His wide-ranging subject matter from elephants to chipmunks represent this travel research. He also covers historical subjects as well as recent experiences. A retrospective book of his career, “An Artists Life”, was published by Sporting Classics in 2023.
Original paintings and many sizes of prints (framed and unframed) are offered for sale in his gallery/studio at Chisholm Valley Wildlife Art. Prior to his current location, he was found at his studio on Oak Ridge in Houston County which was featured in some of his most recognizable work, including “The Oak Ridge Series”.
